At Star of The Sea Primary, we offer a variety of senior leadership roles. From Grades 3 upwards students can join the Eco Warrior team. The Eco Warrior team actively advocate for and implementing practices that protect the environment. It involves promoting conscious choices to reduce our school’s carbon footprint, by recycling, reducing our energy use, and minimising waste. The Eco Warriors participate in community cleanups, support sustainable products, and educate others about environmental issues. Their commitment to preserving the planet extends beyond personal habits to influencing broader societal change, aiming for a healthier and more sustainable future for all.
One of the highlights of this program is connecting with the wider community at the Eco Marines training day on Tangalooma Island. The students collaborate with like-minded peers and develop a strategic plan for implementing change throughout the year. At the end of the year, we all come back together again and celebrate each other’s successes in making the world a healthier place.
